We are inspired by these beautiful navy and white living rooms from Coastal Living Magazine.  The place where family and friends gather is such an important space in your home.   It should reflect your own personal style and be an inviting room that friends and family want to linger in.

There is just something about navy blue and white that brings you out on the open waters! Think blue blazers with Bermuda shorts . . . not to mention yachting! Navy Blue actually got its name from the dark blue (contrasting with white) uniforms worn by the British Royal Navy officers since 1748. Now this color is used by many navies worldwide.

When we first purchased our beach house, our first furniture investment was a set of navy blue and white sofas. Over the years we have updated our accent pillows and room accessories. We started with navy blue and white with soft yellow accents. During our recent renovation, we kept our old sofas, but updated our room by adding neutral linen curtains and a lot of linen throw pillows. We also added a few of the brightly hand-painted pillows by Betsy Drake.
