The Colors of Fall

Reclaimed Wood SconceThe warmth of brown seems to bring us to fall.  Brown started out as a rather drab color used in early days for the working clothes of laborers because, well, they "didn't show the dirt".  Puritan moralists groups adopted a drab form of brown as a symbol of piety and poverty.

Companies like L.L. Bean and Eddy Bauer brought brown forefront to us in their outdoor products.  Brown says stability, reliability, and approachability. It is the color of our earth and is associated with all things natural or organic.

Chocolate Brown and blue are one of the most popular feng shui color combinations widely used in interior decor as the combination of elements:  brown being wood and blue being water.

Brown brings us to the color of the earth and the woodlands.  It reminds us of hearth and home.

Think chocolate, cappucino and French roast!
